Hanoi, 04 April 2018 - Vietnam’s leading international mining trade event returns from 18 to 20 April 2018 at International Centre for Exhibition (I.C.E), Hanoi, Vietnam. The 4th edition of Mining Vietnam 2018,  which is co-located with Building & Construction Vietnam 2018 - continues to converge hundreds of industry exhibitors from across the region, to showcase their innovative products, equipment and latest technical solutions catering to the mining, mineral recovery, mineral handling and processing markets in Vietnam and well beyond.

Mining Vietnam 2018 – Catching up the demand of mining & minerals industry

According to “Vietnam and Cambodia Mining Market Briefing”, published by Austrade, Vietnam has important untapped mineral reserves across the country: around 8.8 billion tons of coal in the North East basin, approximately 29 billion tons of brown coal in the Northern Delta region, world-class bauxite reserve amount of around 5.5 billion tons in the Central Highlands and various other minerals such as titanium, iron ore, chromite, copper, limestone, gold, rare earths, tungsten, etc

However, the extraction of mineral resources is becoming increasingly challenging, as new  discoveries progressively require deeper, more complex extraction needs which in turn requires more advanced technologies to safely extract these products and to ensure sustainability of the mine and surrounding environment, coal mining in particular which constitutes a large percentage of mining activities in Vietnam.

Mr. Tran Tu Ba - Director of Institute of Science anh Technology - Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (VINACOMIN) shared: “Although the results of research and application of technology has achieved many encouraging results and contributed significantly to Vietnamese coal mining and mineral processing, there are still  a lot of challenges and requirements need to solve new problems.

As a unit of the research and science technology advisory, Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (VINACOMIN) has a continuing interested to learn and a willingness to cooperate with units inside and outside the industry, to provide  scientific and technological advances in coal-mining processing and minerals recovery and contribute to sustainable development of the mining industry in Vietnam.”
